Are you a Digital Design Engineer in search of challenging and fulfilling design leadership opportunities? Are you good at creating and debugging logic/SOC designs and enjoy the thrill of seeing them successfully solve customer problems? Are you someone who enjoys working alongside other talented engineers to architect, design, and verify digital logic blocks for mixed-signal integrated circuits? We are looking for a senior, lead digital designer to fill a position in our Analog Power-Buck Switching Regulators-Converters and Controllers Product Line. In this role, you will lead the digital block development in complex mixed-signal DC-DC Controllers. You will work closely alongside senior power system, analog and firmware engineers to define and architect the digital block needs for these mixed-signal ICs. From there, you will lead and be responsible for the digital block development (RTL design); leading and/or working with your digital colleagues to design, verify, and physically implement your design. Additionally, you will support the top-level mixed-signal verification and silicon validation teams to help deliver winning DC-DC controller designs for our customers spanning automotive, industrial, communications, and server markets. Our portfolio spans a wide range of small digital blocks used for test, trim, sequencing, regulation and fault control to complex PMBus designs with telemetry and an embedded microcontroller SOC subsystem. Firmware design/verification and software GUI development are additional perks and possibilities for this position.

1) Bachelors of Electrical Engineering or closely related degree.
2) Experienced digital IC designer (RTL coding, simulation and functional verification, advanced verification skills, synthesis, timing analysis, etc).
3) Proficiency in Hardware Description Languages (Verilog/SystemVerilog preferred).
4) Sound, general understanding of serial interfaces and bus standards (e.g. I2C, PMBus/SMBus).
5) Experience in embedded processors (ARM preferred) and digital “system on a chip” development.
6) Good understanding of tradeoffs between hardware and firmware partitioning in an embedded processor application.
7) Good team/collaboration and communication skills.
8) LINUX/UNIX, MS Windows and Office application proficiency. PERL/Python/shell-scripting.
Knowledge of DC/DC power supply controller architectures, assembly language, C/C++/C#, mixed signal IC development experience, advanced and automated digital verification skills (e.g. UVM, SystemVerilog), Cadence tool experience preferred (simulators, place and route) and application software development (GUI).
A motivated self-starter who is able to produce reliable results in a detailed, disciplined, and organized fashion. Must be willing to work within team design guidelines and follow standard best design practices. Must be able to prioritize tasks – both individually and for the team - so that they are completed in a timely fashion. Able to identify and notify management of high risk items and concerns. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Performs well in a cross-functional cross-cultural, cross-geographical team environment as well as with customers. Understands specific roles within the team and maintains both personal focus and group vision. Helps teammates achieve goals without sacrificing own responsibilities.
Translating IC functional and parametric requirements into a digital architecture for the team to develop. Be able to evaluate and leverage existing IP and architectures, as necessary, to build the digital IC platform for several new products with different firmware offerings.
