About the job:

As an engineering manager, you will be responsible for defining and owning advanced R&D designs. You will play a leadership role in the process, package, IP and test of new products. The engineering manager will also play an important role in defining and influencing university research projects and investments. The engineering manager is responsible for aligning cross-functional team program deliverables and schedules. In addition, the engineering manager is responsible for overseeing the development of technical collateral for customer support.

Basic Qualifications:

o Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field

o 10+ years' work experience in new product development handling power management or mixed signal devices.

Preferred Qualifications:

o Device physics

o Digital and analog circuit theory

o Reliability and qualification testing

o Electrical and Thermal characterization

o Failure Analysis (including EFA) and troubleshooting methodologies (ex. Fishbone, FTA)

o Wafer fabrication and packaging processes and operations

o Probe and Final Test operation

o Quality systems, QSS specs, and tools - 5Whys, 8D, DFMEA, GRR, DFT, DOE

o Data analysis tool: Spotfire, DataPower, MBAYSE, or similar tool

o Statistical data analysis and translate to operational limits to guarantee device performance in Datasheet

o Proactive self-starter, results driven, problem solver, good communicator, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

o Strong ownership

o Able to focus and motivate others by leading thru influence, collaboration and teaming not direct reporting to meet customer/business expectations. Proactively build and use key relationships to gain cooperation without formal authority (internal and external).

o Must have strong written/spoken communication skills, ability to organize information well and communicate with clarity and efficiency for the target audience, whether internal or for customer

o Strong sense of ownership and urgency. Accountable for results. Receives feedback well. Admits mistakes.

o Proven experience to manage multi-layered projects under ambiguous conditions throughout the development process.

o Possess the ability to adapt to customer needs and/or business needs and deliver results as an individual contributor.

o Must successfully and appropriately interface with external customers. Meet customer needs and resolve problems. Avoids over-commitment both externally and internally.

o Project management, time management, multi-tasking, problem solving and communication (written and verbal) are important skills in this role.

o Independent and self-managing. Personal drive to overcome obstacles. Be flexible and easily adapt to changes.

o Must be team oriented and able to work with TI-internal and external groups (design, test, system, applications, QA, marketing, FAE, TI factories, customers, etc.) to resolve issues across global cultures and different time zones.

o Willingness to mentor others.
