Job Description As a global semiconductor company operating in 35 countries, Texas Instruments (TI) is first and foremost a reflection of its people. From the TIer who unveiled the first working integrated circuit in 1958 to the more than 30,000 TIers around the world today who design, manufacture and sell analog and embedded processing chips, we are problem-solvers collaborating to change the world through technology. Put your talent to work with us – change the world, love your job!
About the Job:
As a Yield Enhancement (YE) Engineer you are responsible for ensuring delivery of high quality parts to our customers by identifying root cause of inline defect issues or multiprobe yield loss in RFAB's high volume semiconductor manufacturing environment. Primary responsibilities include identifying, reporting, evaluating and resolving yield loss associated with random or spatial defect patterns. You will initiate root cause analysis and partner with Fab Engineering to drive corrective actions on outlier tools and/or processes with higher defect density to exceed organizational process yield and multiprobe yield goals.
You are responsible for daily defect monitoring and line control. You must react to defect excursions and baseline shifts quickly, perform commonality analysis, and engage Process, Product, and Equipment Engineers to resolve. There will be opportunities to lead, influence, and support teams associated with defect density reduction, defect excursions, and yield improvement to troubleshoot and resolve key yield-limiting defect problems.
Participation in cross-functional teams across RFAB is expected and required. Presenting defect reduction project updates to upper management is essential. You will be expected to spend time in the Fab on a daily basis working closely with the on-shift Technicians to resolve defect issues and communicate findings to the engineering community through daily interaction with Process, Product, and Equipment engineering counterparts.
Bachelors of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field of study
Minimum 2 years of experience working in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing fab environment
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
Previous direct Yield Enhancement experience
Experience on KLA/AMAT inspection equipment or defect review tools
Track record of driving high-impact yield improvement projects to completion
