As a technical leader in a dynamic team whose mission is to design leading edge non-volatile memory IP targeting either ultra-low power or high performance products:
Primary job responsibility is to direct the design of firmware and RTL for the digital wrapper IP around non-volatile memories in deep sub-micron silicon processes.
Work in conjunction with the management of the NVM Design team as well as the end-users to define the specifications of the IP.
Work with the representatives of the internal manufacturing interface group along with representatives of the fabrication facility to ensure that key concerns of the non-volatile memory are supported.
Mentor members of the NVM IP Design teams on design techniques to achieve the design goals.
Perform design tradeoffs and realize best-in class Performance, Power and Area optimized silicon implementations. Tasks include design, simulation & characterization of custom circuits to meet design requirements.
STA/SPICE simulations using transistor level modeling of memory arrays to predict performance, monitor margins and ensure robustness across the entire process window.
Logic simulations using transistor level functional verification via Fast-SPICE or another accelerator.
Assist in post-silicon debug & analysis and product ramp-up.
Define, document and implement methodology for full-custom blocks
Conduct reviews of the design for the technical community and be able to convey the design tradeoffs made and the rationale behind them.
Other tasks include generation of timing models & layout supervision of full-custom blocks.
