Job Posting Title Application Engineer
Job Description About the Group
The wireless infrastructure product group focuses on the development of integrated transceiver SoCs targeted for wireless base station markets covering 3G/4G/4.5G/5G/AAS technologies. State-of-the art industry-first class of SoC products based on zero-IF and RF sampling Communication transceiver architectures have been developed by this team. These products comprise integrated high performance RF/analog front-end, multi-GSPS ADCs/DACs, high speed digital front-end for data-path processing (e.g., interpolation/decimation filtering, up/down-conversion, IQ mismatch estimation/correction, AGC, etc.), embedded micro-controllers, signal processing algorithms, high speed interfaces (SerDes, JESD, etc.) These integrated transceivers are developed in advanced sub-micron technology nodes and incorporate highly complex digital logic comprising few 10’s of million gates to implement cutting-edge high-speed GHz data-path processing. Power consumption is a critical care about and needs to be addressed through highly innovative digital macro/micro-architectures and design. These highly integrated SoCs support a multitude of intricate System level use-case scenarios making verification and validation very challenging. We are looking for passionate, creative and self-driven engineers who would challenge traditional techniques, come up with innovative solutions and methodologies to make a difference. You would get an opportunity to work with a highly accomplished team that holds 150+ granted patents on these technologies.
Analog Apps - Job Description:
- Apps Engineer role for Analog/Mixed Signal ICs for Industry’s leading edge high performance analog products - high speed ADCs, Transceivers and analog front ends .
The job involves development of Application/reference evm design. Analog performance is a critical care about for achieving SNR and linearity. High speed(Ghz) makes it very challenging and higher input frequencies makes it even harder to achieve 80+ dB of linearity. Careful board design for is done using enhanced driving circuits to extract the best possible performance from the device. Identifying bottlenecks in design drives the definition of future improvements in future designs. Ability to break the device and stretch the limits of the deice is key to understand the design margins. Application engineering involves understanding the customer system to fine tune the performance of the device for the use case. Very good understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and flair for hardware is essential to excel in Apps engineering role.
• B.E or higher
• Analog Hardware experience in characterization, Apps or test.
• Debug skills
• 5+ years experience in characterization/Apps
• Familiarity with productization flows
- Passion, Self-drive, Hard work, Willingness to learn
• Working silicon experience with data converter is an added advantage.
• FPGA programming and automation is an added advantage.
